The working paper "The integration panel. Development of language skills and language competencies relevant to the everyday life of integration course participants during the course" examines the progress made by participants during their course with regard to their language skills and language competencies relevant to everyday life as part of the .

In the first part of the working paper the focus is on individual language skills relevant to the everyday life of integration course participants. The paper investigates which areas show strong improvements (e.g. introducing oneself) and which areas are more difficult for participants (e.g. telephone calls).
The second part of the working paper looks at the development of general language skills. Using regression analyses, the influence of important determinants on language skills such as age, school education, social contacts and country of origin are examined at the start of the course, at the end of the course, and with regard to the increase in language skills. In addition, recommendations for action for improving support for course participants are made.

You will find the first working paper within the framework of the "Integration panel" project here. This offers, amongst other things, a detailed breakdown of the longitudinal study carried out.
