Abridged version of the Research Report: Asylum – and what then? The situation of persons having the right to asylum and recognised refugees in Germany ,
The abridged version summarises the most important statements and results of the BAMF's Study on Refugees 2014.
The BAMF's Study on Refugees 2014 addresses persons having the right to asylum (in accordance with Art. 16a of the Basic Law [Grundgesetz – GG]) and recognised refugees (in accordance with section 3 subsection (1) of the Asylum Act [AsylG]) from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iraq, Iran, Sri Lanka and Syria. These six countries of origin have been primary factors in determining events with regard to newly-arriving asylum-seekers in Germany in the past ten years. The respondents are aged between 18 and 69, and were awarded their status in the asylum procedure between 2008 and 2012.
The survey therefore permits statements to be made regarding the group of individuals who have prospects to remain permanently who have already been in Germany for several years. This group is now rather large, and continues to grow. The first systematic record that was made of their situation within the BAMF’s Study on Refugees 2014 permits important conclusions to be drawn for current and future integration policy.
