Provision and exchange of information on migration and asylum

The objective of the European Migration Network (EMN) is to satisfy the information needs of the institutions of the European Union and of its Member States when it comes to migration and asylum by providing up-to-date, objective, reliable, comparable information in order to support policy-making in the European Union (EU). The EMN is also to supply the public with information on these topics. The information is usually also made available to the public via a website.

The EMN operates in the areas of research, analysis and documentation. Data and information from a variety of sources are collected, exchanged, analysed and made available in an easily-accessible format. This takes place in the shape of reports, studies, ad-hoc queries, Informs and a newsletter. You can find these sorted by topic under EMN Publications.

There is also a Glossary on terms related to asylum and migration which is intended to help ensure that more uniform terminology is used in the Member States.
