In order to contribute to the further professionalisation of the field of counselling, including for the social environment, as well as to ensure quality assurance in deradicalisation work, the BAMF's Research Centre, in cooperation with an external partner, has developed a concept for a skill-building course for counsellors who are working or would like to work in the fields of deradicalisation. The course aims to impart expertise geared towards practical counselling work on an in-service basis, over a period of two semesters. The course is intended as an in-service, modularised, certified skill-building measure.

The implementation of the course was launched successfully in June 2021 in cooperation with the Pestalozzi Association, following a call for tenders. The pilot course took place until February 2022 as a blended learning training activity with 22 participants from all over Germany.

The second round of the qualification course will start in February 2023 and will again be offered by the Pestalozzi Association. Based on the experiences from the pilot course as well as the evaluation results of an evaluation by Camino, some innovations and adjustments were made to the course.

The companion guide on the course entitled "Deradicalisation and disengagement work" is available for downloading.
