The Federal Government makes the report available to all constitutional bodies as a joint data basis on current migration. It does not contain any evaluations on migratory movements in Germany. The Migration Report is drafted once per year at the request of the Federal Parliament.

The Migration Report 2005 is out of print and there are no plans to reprint it. The Migration Report 2006 is available since december 2007.
